The Primary School years are where it all takes shape. From the curious six-year-old stepping into Grade 1 for the first time, to the confident, capable twelve-year-old completing Grade 6 and preparing to step into Junior School — these are the years that define how a child sees themselves as a learner, and how they engage with the world around them.
At Akoto Dalizu Premier Academy, we treat the Primary School years with the seriousness and the care they deserve. Our Grade 1 to Grade 6 programme is built on Kenya’s Competency Based Curriculum (CBC), delivered by qualified teachers in an environment that is structured, stimulating, and deeply supportive.

Assessment in the CBC is not about ranking children against each other. It is about understanding where each learner is in their individual journey — and using that understanding to support their continued growth.
At ADPA, we use a range of assessment approaches including:
Formative Assessment Ongoing, daily assessment through observation, questioning, classwork, and group activities. This tells our teachers — in real time — what each child understands and where they need additional support.
Summative Assessment End-of-topic and end-of-term assessments that consolidate learning and give a broader picture of each learner’s progress across all learning areas.
Portfolios & Projects CBC places significant emphasis on learner portfolios — collections of work that demonstrate growth, creativity, and competency over time. Our learners build and take pride in their portfolios.
End-of-Term Reports Detailed, honest, and constructive reports are issued to parents at the end of every term. These reports do not just assign grades — they describe your child’s progress in each learning area, their effort, their attitude, and specific areas for continued growth.
Parent-Teacher Consultations We schedule regular opportunities for parents to sit down with their child’s teacher, review progress, and co-create strategies to support learning at home.
